Today, my supervisor asked me to fix a moist heat sterilizer; such devices are common in my previous workplace, so I often have to repair them – it’s a piece of cake! I also want to show that the mechanic ahead has been looking at it for a long time without being able to solve the problem. When I got there, I wanted them to demonstrate the fault phenomenon, but they said they were about to finish work and didn’t have time; they would do it tomorrow instead. But I saw a DC solenoid valve at the site that was quite special – it had a permanent magnet attached to it. Could someone explain what kind of solenoid valve this is? Thank you! I just started at my new workplace and want to make a good impression. I just searched online and it might be called a magnetically held solenoid valve.
. . . I don’t know the specifics; I can only make guesses and offer suggestions. That solenoid valve has permanent magnets, which are likely used to maintain the valve in place. When there is a power failure due to a valve malfunction, it will remain in the position held by the magnets. In other words, fault on or fault off. .
I agree with what was said above; just like in pneumatic valves, there are options for operation by air pressure as well as shutdown via air pressure, for safety and process-related reasons. Continuing from below: lol
