For the company’s heavy oil catalytic cracking maintenance work, a new heat catalyst pipeline is needed, about 10 meters long, with a temperature of around 600 degrees. I plan to use 1Cr5Mo pipes for this purpose. It seems that valves with purge ports would be appropriate; I haven’t worked with such valves before, so I’m not sure what kind they are and what their advantages are

1Cr5Mo can only be used up to 600 degrees. If the hot catalyst is merely transferred from the equipment to a catalyst tank, and the pipes are not insulated, it is sufficient to use 304H material for the 6–8 meter section of pipe at the outlet of the hot catalyst; the remaining parts can still be made of 1Cr5Mo.
I’m not sure what the main function of this pipeline is. If it is used for unloading materials, 1Cr5Mo could be a suitable material; one advantage is the short processing time, and another important point is the availability of air for transportation. By controlling the unloading speed, it is possible to reduce the temperature of the pipeline below 600 degrees. If it is for the regenerator body nozzles or for thermal catalyst fluidization, a grade slightly lower than 1Cr5Mo can be used; 304H or 316H may also be chosen. As for the valves to be used, pattern valves should be chosen, that is, valves equipped with purging ports on their valve passages and bonnets. Of course, ordinary gate valves can also be used, or ordinary gate valves can be modified to become imitation valves.
In fact, pipes can be equipped with internal insulation to reduce the design temperature of the metal.
