Every time the sulfuric acid production line in our factory starts up, the produced sulfuric acid is turbid and gray in color. Due to the frequent start-up and shutdown operations and the large volume of acid generated, we are trying to convert this sulfuric acid into transparent acid, but we are unsure which filtering material would be most suitable for this purpose.
It can be dealt with by storing it stationary for a while, or by treating it as dirty acid when driving.

I tried using a sand-core funnel for filtration over the past two days, but the results were poor; the liquid remained cloudy after filtration, and there was a layering effect, with the upper part being white and the lower part having a slight brown tint.

Reply to 1# tyn565: In stable production, domestic sulfuric acid plants generally use precipitation separation rather than filtration, and the supernatant is then filtered. However, if your company’s production is not stable, and given that downstream customers have high requirements for the products, it is advisable to install a set of security filtration equipment. When selecting such equipment, consider the budget; it is best if the equipment can operate in a closed system, with automated processing and automatic slag removal.
