The wastewater discharged by our unit meets the standards for all other parameters after testing, but the level of volatile phenols is above the allowed limit (3.84 mg/L). Can anyone provide a simple and feasible solution for addressing this issue?
I suggest the original poster consider using macroporous resin for adsorption. As far as I know, macroporous adsorption resins have a high removal efficiency for high-concentration phenols; as for low-concentration phenols, this can be tested through simple pilot experiments

Chemical methods can also be employed: pre-oxidation using KMnO4, ClO2, ozone, etc., or biological pretreatment
LZ, first you should introduce the properties of the wastewater as well as its relevant parameters, then explain the existing treatment processes. After that, everyone can have a technical discussion based on what you already have, to see if it’s possible to solve the problems with minimal changes. If the original treatment process is unknown, it is of little use to simply install treatment facilities or remediation units.
