Is the chemical dosing continuous in the conversion boiler of Texaco Vaporization? Are the liquid level height, the desalinated water fed into the boiler, and the generated steam under \"three-weight\" control? How exactly?
Whether chemical dosing is required for a conversion boiler depends on the steam generation pressure level; it’s not necessary for pressures of 0.5 MPAG. The higher the pressure level, the more continuous dosing is needed – for pressures above 2.5 MPAG, continuous dosing is essential.
The “three-parameter control” of boilers is primarily aimed at preventing false level readings. Generally, the liquid level is used as the main control parameter, but in some cases, the boiler feedwater is used instead. When the liquid level is used as the main control parameter, the set value for the liquid level is compared with the measured values of boiler feedwater and steam volume; an MV signal is then generated and sent to the actuator of the feedwater valve to control its opening degree.
