The nominal diameter of the cylinder is 900, with a design pressure of 4.0 MPa for both the tubes and the shell; the heat exchange area is 215 square meters. The length of the heat exchange tube is 6 meters, and its outer diameter is 25 millimeters. 2 pipe banks, baffle spacing of 200mm. (Process designers often specify the baffle spacing in this way; it’s common sense.)
There is one unit with the specifications BIU900-4.0/4.0-215-6.0/25-2I, B=350, but this specification of 350 isn’t listed in the standards!
The spacing between baffle plates should be calculated based on the flow rate, velocity, and properties of the material. According to regulation 151, this spacing must be at least 1/5 of the inner diameter of the shell, and also at least 50 mm, depending on the maximum inner diameter of the shell. I don’t think it’s necessary to standardize baffles; specific calculations based on individual cases are required to determine them.

To add to what was said earlier, the “I” refers to the primary tube bank specified in Regulation 151. “B=200” denotes the spacing between baffle plates; that’s indeed how it’s used, and it might be considered an unwritten rule.
