An hourly production capacity of 20 tons of NPK compound fertilizer – achieved through steam drum granulation using a granulator with a diameter of φ2200, a cooler with a diameter of φ2000, and a dryer with a diameter of φ2600. Is it possible to reach such a production volume?
The formula makes production easy; standard fertilizers are relatively straightforward to produce, while high-nitrogen fertilizers are more difficult to manufacture – around 15-17 I guess
Used for producing general-purpose fertilizers such as 15-15-15 – can this production level be achieved?
It depends on your production process control; for formulas that are easy to produce, with proper process control, 20 tons should be no problem
Increasing the granulation temperature, reducing the moisture content of the material used for granulation, improving the balling rate, and decreasing the amount of material that needs to be returned can significantly increase production.
The cooler is too small; if its diameter is increased to 2200 or 2400, the production rate can reach 20–25 tons/h. It is also related to both granulation technology and firing temperature.
The three 15-model granulators and dryers for producing general-purpose fertilizers are fine, but the cooling machine is too small; especially in summer, it’s not possible to lower the temperature during production.
A larger granulator is a waste, haha. Our company’s 2-meter granulator, with drying and cooling at 2.2, can produce over 200 units per shift, so around 600 units per day. The problem is a lack of staff; moreover, the skills vary from shift to shift, which results in unstable production levels. At its peak, a class could produce 260
