What material should be used for stainless steel plates used in pipeline insulation?
Material 304 will work fine :)
Aluminum alloy is used more often; if stainless steel 304 is available, that’s sufficient
In my opinion, aluminum sheets are generally used for insulation; if stainless steel sheets must be used, it is probably because there are special requirements regarding the environment or surface decoration. If there are special requirements regarding corrosion resistance in the environment, it depends on the type of atmospheric conditions involved, such as those in the ocean or in thermal power plants, etc. If no special requirements exist, then 304 material is an excellent choice.
What was said on the 4th floor is correct – we use galvanized iron sheet for insulating our pipes; we’ve never used stainless steel for this purpose. I’m not sure what type of pipes the original poster has and whether they want to use stainless steel for insulation
