Dear sea friends! What causes blockages to occur before the slurry pump in the slurry system? What are the reasons that can cause blockage ahead of the slurry pump?
An increase in the slurry density, a rise in its solid content, insufficient stirring steam, and an excessive residence time of the slurry at the bottom of the tower all lead to increased coking, which accumulates in the pipelines ahead of the pump until blockage occurs~~~
Excessive residence time of the slurry leads to coking; since the pumps are not used alternately over long periods, the standby pumps must be kept in a preheated state and switched regularly.
High temperatures at the bottom of the distillation tower, long residence time of the slurry at that location, insufficient amount of steam for stirring – all these factors can lead to coking. Additionally, the absence of a filter screen at the bottom of the tower means that the formed coke particles accumulate in the pipes; once they gather into clumps, they can block the pipes

This problem could be due to 1. Sometimes, the scale inhibitor pump fails to deliver enough fluid, causing the slurry to flow back and block the pipelines; 2. Alternatively, it might be that the temperature of the scale inhibitor is too high, which over time leads to blockages in the pipelines
It’s likely due to coking; if the backup pump isn’t switched in for a long time or the filter isn’t cleaned for an extended period, blockages will occur over time
