Yankuang Group is a state-owned super-large enterprise whose core industries include coal, coal chemical engineering, machinery processing, and coal-fired power, aluminum production. By the end of 2007, the total assets amounted to 58 billion yuan, with nearly 100,000 employees on the payroll. The headquarters owns two coal fields in Yanzhou and eastern Jining, with a total area of 435.44 square kilometers. As of the end of 2007, the resource reserves amounted to 3.66 billion tons, while the exploitable reserves were 1.77 billion tons. Exploration efforts were carried out abroad in areas such as Xinjiang, Inner Mongolia, Juye, Yulin, Heshun, Guizhou, and Australia to develop coal deposits; among these, Xinjiang saw an increase in coal resources reserves of 15 billion tons. Established in April 2009, Yankuang Xinjiang Coal Chemical Co., Ltd. is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Yankuang Group registered in Xinjiang. Located in the Ganquanbao Industrial Park, 45 kilometers northeast of Urumqi, it focuses on developing coal chemical industries by leveraging the region’s abundant coal resources, thereby creating a coal chemical manufacturing base for Yankuang Group in Xinjiang. The project launched in the early stage is the “600,000-ton alcohol-ammonia co-production project” (i.e., 300,000 tons of synthetic ammonia, 300,000 tons of methanol, and 520,000 tons of urea), with a total investment of 4.3 billion yuan. The ordering of equipment, the construction of temporary on-site facilities, and the underground pipeline network have been largely completed, with operation expected to begin in the first half of 2012. After going into operation, the costs will be far lower than those of methanol and urea manufacturers in the eastern region, giving it a strong competitive advantage; it is expected to generate profits of 500 million yuan per year. During the 12th Five-Year Plan period, another approximately 5 billion yuan will be invested in coal-to-natural gas projects, with coal-to-oil and other fine chemical projects to be launched at an appropriate time.
What processes are used for all of them? Is four-nozzle vaporization used?
Is the technology jointly developed by Yankuang Group and Huali slurry coal?

It must be the four-nozzle type – a patent owned by Yankuang itself!
What is the quality of coal in Xinjiang? Is it suitable for water-coal slurry?
How are Yankuang’s projects in Inner Mongolia progressing? I heard that they set up a petrochemical company there; does anyone know more details?

Ordos Energy Chemical Co., Ltd. is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Yanzhou Coal Industry, with a registered capital of 1.5 billion yuan. Ordos City **has allocated coal resources with a reserve of 1.68 billion tons to develop coal chemical projects. The project is planned to start construction initially with an annual production capacity of 1.8 million tons of coal-based methanol and derived olefins; the first phase includes a 600,000-ton methanol production facility and 2 supporting mines. He Ye, General Manager of Ordos Energy Chemicals, convened a meeting of the team members to hold the first work session. He conveyed the spirit of the speech delivered by Wang Xin, Vice Chairman of the Group’s Board of Directors, General Manager, and Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, at the time the team was established. He assigned tasks to the existing staff, outlined the key priorities for future work, and identified the immediate goals of \"completing one task, accelerating another, and ensuring synchronization in two areas.\" The company established a dedicated task force to define the procedures for completing the transfer, clarify the approach, assign responsibilities, and ensure that the changes are implemented on schedule. They actively reached out to design firms, carried out extensive technical exchanges, and began preparations for tasks such as the project’s overall layout, site grading, and preliminary design. They also conducted early investigations and evaluations of potential technical approaches, as well as early assessments of key equipment, in an effort to get the project started as soon as possible. While accelerating the construction of the methanol plant, the company is actively seeking out coal mine design firms and geological survey agencies, and working on preparing the feasibility report for the coal mine, while simultaneously carrying out the preliminary preparations for its construction. At the same time, extensive and in-depth investigations were conducted into the local coal resources, and by taking advantage of the local policies regarding resource integration, as well as Yankuang Group’s financial and technical strengths, the group actively participated in the integration of local resources. At present, the entire company is working towards its established goals with determination, without delay or hesitation, through teamwork, and all tasks are progressing swiftly and in an orderly manner.
