Consider the power supply metering method, but the metering device must meet the power factor requirements. The meter has reactive power measurement. High-voltage supply and high-voltage metering customers can also adopt high-voltage reactive power compensation if necessary; this is generally used by customers with equipment such as high-voltage motors. Of course, centralized compensation on the low side of the main transformer is still necessary; otherwise, the power factor of the main transformer will be too low, preventing an increase in its capacity utilization.
2# zhx7540 Our company uses decentralized compensation in the low-voltage system, achieving a power factor of over 0.94; however, the power supply authority refuses to offer any incentives and requires us to implement compensation on the low side of the main transformer. Is there any legal basis for this requirement?
Decentralization or centralization is merely a matter of compensation method; the power supply department only evaluates the reactive power indicated on the metering devices, rather than the value shown on the power factor meter. I have never seen a regulation that mandates centralized compensation on the low-voltage side. But this centralized compensation model is common in factories. Here, the power factor is 0.94, resulting in a 0.60% reduction in monthly electricity costs (the standard value is 0.90). It might still be necessary to ensure good communication between the enterprise and the power supply department.
Your equipment wasn’t purchased from the power supply company, right?

When issues related to power factor adjustment and associated electricity costs arose after it came online, we turned to the marketing department of the power supply authority. They required us to implement centralized compensation on the low side of the main transformer; otherwise, no incentives would be given, on the grounds that it would make monitoring difficult.
