The company plans to build a 10,000 M3 dry gas holder, and is currently in the process of selecting compressors in accordance with the design requirements provided by the design institute. There are several questions I would like to ask those of you who have experience in this field: 1. Which manufacturers in China have extensive experience in producing screw compressors for industrial use? 2. Which manufacturer produces the compressors used in your company’s gas cylinders? 3. Our unit uses models from 711 Institute and American Horton; among them, the model from 711 Institute is of the injection type with a rotor made of carbon steel, while Horton’s screw compressor uses a common system for liquid injection and lubrication – it is recommended to opt for a separate system. It is also recommended to use a dry gas seal, as this can increase the operating cycle of the unit. 3. The intake pressure is not the lower the better; there is a requirement regarding the compression ratio, which must be maintained properly, otherwise it can easily cause the engine to shut down. 4. If a dry screw compressor is selected, the material of the rotor must be chosen based on the operating conditions of the medium.
1. In China, the institutions with the most experience in producing process gas screw compressors are the 711 Research Institute and Shanghai Compressor Factory. The flow rates available range from 100 m3/h to 50,000 m3/h, with oil-free screw compressors being the predominant type. Wuxi Compressor Factory (capable of producing oil-injected screw compressors) also has some business dealings with Bosch; however, its technical capabilities are not very advanced, and due to limitations in processing capacity, the gas flow rate is less than 5000 m3/h. The companies with the strongest technology in foreign process screw compressors are German MAN and Japanese KOBELCO, whose flow rates can reach 100,000 m3/h; followed by British HOWDEN and American AC. 2. Process screw compressors are divided into oil-injected screw compressors: they have a low speed and small diameter, and are suitable for applications with medium flow rates where the gas being processed is pure (

Compressor manufacturers: 711, Shangya, Baos, and Wuxi Compressor Factory. 711 has a significant track record in terms of refinery exhaust gas recovery; Shangya and Wuxi Compressor Factory have fewer such projects. Baos also has some projects, but I don’t think its performance is very good (project duration of 4–5 months, with delivery possible in 2.5 months). Either there’s a problem with manufacturing, or they sign first and delay things ； 2. Our unit has chosen upper pressure. It is considered that a 2Cr13 material shall be used for the corrosion-resistant rotor, and the rotor adopts a single-sided asymmetric SRM profile. It is guaranteed that no cracks will appear in the rotor within five years. The compressor shaft seal uses a labyrinth + bellows mechanical seal design. Model: LG-30/8; rotor profile: SRM asymmetric; rotor diameter: 255 mm; length-to-diameter ratio: 1.65. The type of radial and thrust bearings is rolling type (SKF). Shaft seal type: labyrinth + bellows mechanical seal. Rotational speed: 2985 r/min. Drive mechanism: motor-driven compressor.
