The flue gas flows from bottom to top, while the absorbent liquid is sprayed from top to bottom, allowing for thorough counter-current contact between the gas and liquid phases. During the spraying process, sulfur dioxide in the flue gas is absorbed and removed by ammonia and ammonium sulfite present in the absorbing solution; the flue gas becomes further saturated and humidified, and most of the free water is removed by the mist eliminator at the top of the tower, after which it is discharged through the chimney at the tower’s top. The overall system pressure drop ≤ 1200 Pa. At the same time, an interlock system for the desulfurization system is installed to detect conditions such as excessive flue gas temperature and high dust levels, thereby ensuring the proper operation of the desulfurization system.
