Oxygen production by air separation?

I’ve just started working in the air separation industry; I have only a basic understanding of PSA nitrogen and oxygen production methods. However, I’m not very familiar with VPSA oxygen production. I would appreciate any guidance from those who are more experienced! In the PSA oxygen production process, there are steps involving backwashing and purge. I wonder if VPSA also includes such steps If there is backflow, with a vacuum pump operating below to create a vacuum, it will draw away the product gas from the other tower through the backflow valve. Won’t this affect the oxygen production? Also, VPSA is all micro-positive pressure adsorption; can gas pass through during backblowing? Could some expert please provide a detailed explanation of the VPSA process? Thank you! Looking forward to an answer

Without backflow, the molecular sieve cannot be completely desorbed. The amount of backflow gas can be controlled through the backflow valve
