I haven’t encountered this situation, but I’ve heard that when oil is present, it’s possible to use high-pressure steam for purging, followed by drying air for further purging, until the tests show satisfactory results. Alternatively, carbon tetrachloride liquid can be used for cleaning, followed by purging with dry gas

First, confirm the oil inflow rate! Analyze plate exchanger downcomers and distillation column downcomers! Then use backblowing for reverse purging; use blind flanges in areas where the system is isolated – do not rely on valves. Also, ensure there are no dead corners during purging!
If blowing continuously, it might take a long time. Is there any cleaning agent that can be used? Of course, this cleaning agent must be one that is allowed to be used and will not cause any damage to the plate format! Wouldn’t it be more convenient to have organic solvents with good performance to dissolve the oil and then remove it?
