Are the identification labels on instruments really that important? Why do they check the gauge labels just when nothing’s wrong! Everyone, share your opinions! !
The signboard contains a lot of relevant information about this instrument; it’s first-hand data, and of course that’s very important.
Each floor level of all our towers is equipped with instrument label plates that list the serial numbers of all instruments on that level. This is very important to prevent mistakes by instrument technicians, just as process pipelines need to be labeled as well.
2# zyzs: But the instrument labels in our factory only indicate the tag number and the device name. I think these signs are meant for instrument technicians to read, but we already know very well the equipment under our responsibility. I don’t think it really serves any significant purpose
Clear markings can prevent misoperations; making a mistake during bypassing or maintenance can lead to the shutdown of the device. The cost of starting and stopping large-scale devices is very high, not to mention the potential damage to the equipment.
Hanging signboards is a concrete manifestation of meticulous management in our company. There are no more inspection route maps; the logic diagrams of the instruments on site are clearly displayed there. It’s convenient not only for the instrument operators but also for the process engineers.
As I understand it, instrument identification tags should be labels indicating the location of each instrument. At our factory, an aluminum tag is used for each instrument to indicate its location, thereby preventing accidental misoperations when working with those instruments. At the same time, each instrument comes with its own factory label, which contains technical data such as the model number; these serve as the primary information for creating records.
Just like identification, the fact that you know it doesn’t mean others do as well; by putting up a sign, those who are not familiar with it will be able to see it right away
Of course it’s important; there’s no doubt about that. The reasons have been mentioned in the previous floors, so there’s no need to repeat them
