Can a grounding switch be installed on the 10KV high-voltage main incoming cabinet?
It is generally required to install a grounding switch, arrester, and live display device
Ground switches are not allowed to be installed in the incoming cable cabinets; they are only installed in the feeder cabinets and the transformer output cabinets.
It doesn’t seem to explicitly state that it’s not allowed. Generally, a grounding switch is not included, as there is a risk that it might be closed accidentally while the device is powered on, leading to a short circuit in the circuit and a major power outage ； The advantage of having a grounding switch is to ensure safety during maintenance. Generally, there is a five-protection interlock to prevent the accidental closing of the grounding switch while the circuit breaker is closed; this prevents the grounding switch from being closed and thus avoids operational errors. This is safer than using a ground wire, as it prevents power supply while a ground wire is in use.
10kV high-voltage main incoming cable cabinets generally do not have grounding switches; grounding switches are installed on the feeder cabinets.
From the perspective of operational safety, grounding switches are usually installed on the feed cabinet.
Power supply companies generally do not allow users to install grounding switches in the incoming cable cabinets. It is not allowed even if the cabinet has five protections.
