Hello everyone. The pump used in our facility to transport finished products (acrylic resin with a viscosity of around 1000–3000) often leaks. It’s possible that the resin loses its solvents and turns into a solid state, thereby getting stuck in the gears. Has anyone come across a pump with better sealing properties? Are there any pump heads that can be purchased?

I don’t understand the statement that \"the resin turns into a solid after its volatile solvents evaporate\"; do I understand it correctly that changes in temperature reduce the viscosity of the resin, causing it to turn into a solid? The key to this process is that the gear pump has a thermal insulation jacket to control the temperature of the material; if the viscosity decreases, it has a significant impact on gear wear, sleeve wear, and the seal. Additionally, the pump’s rotation speed needs to be kept very low. For high viscosity, using a lip seal is the most suitable option. For those with high viscosity, we use triple lip seals; although it is more expensive, customers report no leaks.
With such high viscosity, a cam pump should be used.
You can try a diaphragm pump! Simple structure, easy to maintain! But the traffic isn’t very constant!

If you are pumping from a barrel, a medium-to-high viscosity barrel pump can be used; if the liquid is transported through pipes, it might be better to use a diaphragm pump, as diaphragm pumps generally do not suffer from leakage problems.
