First, the polysilicon is cleaned with HF and HNO3, then rinsed with water, and finally dried with nitrogen. Silicon blocks are placed in baskets for cleaning, with robotic arms that can operate automatically. With a silicon core, there is a support in place, allowing many fibers to be cleaned at once.
