Tensile test, bending test, impact test, intergranular corrosion test for austenitic stainless steel. Please explain these methods. Is the intergranular corrosion test for austenitic stainless steel applicable only to austenitic materials? Do other materials need to undergo intergranular corrosion testing?
Tensile testing, bending testing, impact testing, and intergranular corrosion testing of austenitic stainless steels – all these testing methods have corresponding standards specified in GB. The acceptance criteria are outlined in the relevant material standards; intergranular corrosion testing is not applicable to carbon steel and low-alloy steel. Maraging and ferritic stainless steels might have them as well; I’m not sure if anyone knowledgeable is aware of this
