What is the appropriate method for using the seal fluid tank in mechanical seals? Who can explain it in detail!
If a double-end face mechanical seal is used, it is advisable to employ a seal fluid tank, which helps to maintain pressure balance between the mechanical seal and the reaction vessel.
1# zhuhonggang sealant tank is used for double-end face mechanical seals; it contains the sealant and requires pressurization (usually with nitrogen), with the pressure being 0.5–1 kilogram higher than that in the sealing chamber
Mechanical seals with a sealant tank are usually double mechanical seals, which are divided into pressurized double seals and non-pressurized double seals. Pressurized double-sealing is generally designed with dual end faces, and is mainly suitable for applications involving liquid media containing toxic gases such as H2S ; Pressure-free double seals are generally arranged in series and are mainly suitable for media such as liquefied gas and light hydrocarbons.
Liquid-sealed tanks are primarily used to prevent the leakage of media; they are suitable for dynamic sealing of flammable, explosive, toxic, harmful, and valuable media, effectively preventing leaks and ensuring safety.
A liquid seal tank is generally used with double-end mechanical seals; it can be connected to the container, thereby allowing the pressures at both ends of the mechanical seal to remain balanced. But if the main device uses indirect production, then one must be careful. In our company, there was an incident where, since the pressure of the main equipment was zero at the beginning, the mixing mechanism started to operate; as a result, the lubricating oil in the liquid seal tank could not reach the necessary level, which led to damage to the mechanical seal.
A liquid-sealed tank, as the name suggests, uses a liquid to prevent gas leaks; it’s used in the chlor-alkali industry, right?
You can find the API682 standard at the station; it provides a comprehensive overview of what you’re looking for

Seal manufacturers can basically provide the necessary components for this, and that’s what constitutes the seal auxiliary system. You can directly approach the machine seal manufacturer to have them prepare a plan for you.
I’ve asked several mechanical seal manufacturers, and none of them do this kind of work; that’s why I’m reaching out for help. Do you have any information on this? Anyway, thanks first
