Dear experts, what are plug-in fittings, embedded fittings, and fixed fittings? What are the differences between them? Are there any standard specifications providing detailed information on this topic? I’ve searched for a long time but couldn’t find anything. Thank you all
The diagram in Appendix J of GB150 shows it very clearly; take a look.
For plug-in type connections, the pipe rises inside the shell to reach its inner wall; the weld between this pipe and the shell is a fillet weld. Embedded type pipes are generally used for overall reinforcement on convex end caps – the pipe opening is embedded within the end cap shell to form a butt joint. As for socket-type connections, they are simply placed outside the shell and welded to it using a full-thickness circumferential weld. My expressive abilities are limited; that’s all I can say.

To be more specific, how many pages are there in 20583? I’ve been looking at it for half a day yet still can’t find it

Fixed type: it does not extend inside the housing but remains outside it, which is the opposite of the inserted type; both are classified as D joints
