I noticed that some material lists include pipe fittings, guards, and lock nuts. I would like to ask the experts here what the latter two are used for Is it the same as a gland fitting? Is it also used to connect the cable to the cable protection tube when the cable exits the cable tray?

Our guards and lock nuts are mainly used to secure cable glands when pulling cables out of cable trays.
Are the cables mentioned by the poster unarmored? If they are armored, then there’s no need to put them in pipes, right?
It is used to protect the cables when the instrument cable protection tube enters and exits the cable tray. The protective tube has external threads, and the lock nut is used to secure the protective tube to the opening in the cable tray; the protective cover prevents the cable’s outer insulation from being damaged.
