What are the responsibilities of a materials clerk? What does one have to do on a daily basis? I’d appreciate any experience shares.
1. Prepare a table of pipeline material grades. 2. Prepare valve specification sheets. 3. Establish and improve the database. 4. Verify the comprehensive material table
Check the inventory levels of various materials, and promptly categorize and update inventory information.
Material clerk 1: Be familiar with construction techniques to prepare material plans, and organize the delivery of materials in accordance with those plans. 2. Be responsible for the quality of the materials entering the site and provide proper follow-up service. Understand the usage of materials. 3. Materials entering the site should be stacked in categories, and effective measures should be taken according to their properties to prevent corrosion, moisture damage, and deformation. 4. Materials that require re-inspection should be submitted for testing in a timely manner, and they should correspond to the materials that have entered the site. 5. Promptly compile and report on the loss of materials at the site. 6. Ensure zero inventory and make rational use of accumulated materials. 7. Establish a material analysis database (prices, sources) to provide timely feedback to the decision-making level
1. Strictly abide by the rules and regulations regarding work safety as well as fire prevention measures. 2. Implement the procurement plan in accordance with the construction team’s design and material budgeting system to ensure project progress. 3. Be familiar with the blueprints and have a clear understanding of the building materials; the supply of materials should keep up with the project schedule. 4. The quality, specifications, and models of the purchased materials, components, and equipment must meet the design requirements. Those who, due to reasons related to procurement and storage, affect the quality of the project or cause quality and safety incidents shall bear economic and legal responsibilities. Responsible for providing the document controller with material quality assurance documents. 5. Responsible for establishing a material management system to ensure proper classification and storage of materials; flammable and explosive items are stored in a separate area, strict controls are applied to material intake and output, and material accounts are maintained. 6. Responsible for organizing warehouse duty shifts, installing fire and theft prevention measures, and prohibiting smoking, gathering, and entertainment activities within the warehouse. 7. Responsible for purchasing and distributing personal protective equipment in a timely manner as required. 8. For construction materials and tools, material requisition forms shall be issued; materials are distributed based on these forms, which must be signed by the person who takes them. Materials leaving the construction site must be authorized by the project manager. 9. Assist in carrying out the relevant tasks within the IS09002 series quality management system.
