The “2010 Safety Forum (Nanjing)”, hosted by Nanjing University of Science and Technology, the Qingdao Key Laboratory for Chemical Safety Control, and Mettler-Toledo International Trade (Shanghai) Co., Ltd., will be held on April 28–29, 2010, at the National Guesthouse in the eastern suburbs of Nanjing. This safety forum invited experts from various fields in both the industrial and academic sectors, both domestically and internationally, including Dr. Paul Lambert, Professor Yeung Ho Park, Mr. Vijay Bhujle, Dr. Gu Hong, Professor Chen Wanghua, Dr. Xie Chuanxin, Dr. Song Jiguo, and Mr. Huang Jing, to deliver open-themed lectures. It aimed to create a platform for scholars and experts interested in the intrinsic safety design of industrial processes to exchange ideas on such design aspects in industries and processes related to the petrochemical, fine chemical, and pharmaceutical sectors. Similarly, experts from within the country and abroad will share their experiences and present recent cases to analyze and ensure safety in chemical operations. The main topics of the forum include thermal risk analysis and control in synthetic reactions, as well as the design of safe reaction scaling. This forum will place greater emphasis on practical cases, while also explaining systematic analysis methods. The 2010 Safety Forum (Nanjing) will bring together chemists, chemical engineers, and technical managers from top domestic and international chemical and pharmaceutical companies. They will share their knowledge, methods, and experience in the inherently safe design of industrial processes and operations. Your participation is welcome!
