The recent Chongqing BASF MDI integration project has attracted a lot of attention. So, what specific units make up an MDI integration plant? I’ll ask Haiyou for advice. I would like to know starting from the raw materials.

There are large MDI plants, MDI plants, nitric acid plants, *** plants, chlor-alkali plants, methanol plants, formaldehyde plants, acetylene plants, synthetic ammonia plants, rubber plants, syngas plants.....
400,000 tons of MDI can be shipped. Bayer is also set to produce 1 million tons of MDI.

Project for annual production of 40,000 tons of neoprene (Chongqing Changshou Chemical Co., Ltd.): neoprene production facilities, refrigeration units, wastewater treatment systems, as well as various auxiliary living facilities. 2. Project for annual production of 400,000 tons of nitric acid (Jianfeng Chemical Plant, also known as 816): a synthetic ammonia production facility with an annual capacity of 200,000 tons, a nitric acid production facility with an annual capacity of 400,000 tons, along with various utility systems and auxiliary production facilities; in addition, there are utility facilities such as a circulating water station, a desalinated water station, a fire-fighting water station, and fire-fighting wastewater collection tanks as part of this integrated project. 3. 400,000-ton-per-year formaldehyde production project (Chongqing Changfeng Chemical Plant): 800,000 tons per year methanol production facility, 400,000 tons per year formaldehyde production facility, and production auxiliary facilities. Currently, a methanol plant with an annual capacity of 800,000 tons is under construction by Chongqing Cabele Chemical. 4. 300,000-ton per year chlor-alkali project (Chongqing Tianyuan Chemical Co., Ltd.): 300,000 tons per year of ion-exchange membrane electrolysis units, 250,000 tons per year of evaporation units, 200,000 tons per year of caustic soda production units, and 240,000 tons per year of chlorine liquefaction and vaporization units. These projects started construction or had their foundations laid in 2008.
As a supplementary note: the aforementioned 4 MDI integrated projects are just 4 out of the 17 units. MDI belongs to BASF, but the supporting projects are almost all owned by Chongqing Chemical Industry Group. Chongqing **seizes this opportunity to build a healthcare industry worth 100 billion.
