Seeking methods for measuring the bearing preload of centrifugal compressors
After installing the bearing shells, place 2 suitable pieces of copper sheet on the split surface of the bearing shell cover. Place wire on the top of the bearing shells and tighten it evenly, then take measurements; the resulting difference represents the preload on the back of the bearing shells. As required, it is generally between 0-0.05mm
