Nowadays, the technology of using carbon steel storage tanks with anti-corrosion inner walls to store chemical raw materials is becoming more and more widely used, among which the storage of ethylene glycol, liquid alkali, etc. is more common. Acetic acid is also a commonly used chemical raw material, but due to its strong corrosiveness, it is difficult to do anti-corrosion. I don’t know which company has used carbon steel tanks to anti-corrosion and contain acetic acid.
Generally, zirconium is used as the lining, but the tank body is not made of carbon steel but is usually made of stainless steel. Most of our units are from Shanghai Sensong.
Zirconium materials are too expensive and cannot be afforded or used by ordinary storage and transportation companies.
We currently store acetic acid using 316L material. The corrosiveness of acetic acid in the case of low-temperature finished acid is not very severe.
Stainless steel 316L corrodes slowly, but it is better to be lined
You can use 216 and the price is relatively low. Inner = inner lining can also be used, which can be glass-lined or lined with PTFE.
