On the oil slurry reprocessing line of the catalytic unit, there is a gate valve in front of the angle valve; when the angle valve is fully open, the gate valve is closed to a certain degree in order to control the amount of oil slurry that is reprocessed. Is it necessary to switch to using the angle valve for flow control?
Based on your description, I think it would be more appropriate to use a gate valve to control the flow rate. The main concern is likely wear over time; can the gate valve be replaced in that case? I’m not sure if this is correct
If it is for the convenience of replacing the gate valve, then the angle valve should be placed in front of the gate valve. Just for the sake of making it easier to replace the gate valve, wouldn’t it be more cost-effective to use two gate valves?; Why is a corner valve still used if its throttling function is not utilized?
Does the poster mean the slurry, referring to the reaction re-refining slurry line? We don’t have angle valves here. I’m wondering if the reprocessing volume should be adjusted frequently – sometimes high and sometimes low. Could using angle valves for throttling help maintain a consistent flow rate of the slurry in the pipeline, thereby preventing catalyst deposition and pipeline blockage when the flow rate is low?
