The DMF turns yellow during distillation; does anyone know why this happens? How can it be dealt with?
Which DMF, the one used during production or that from solvent recovery?
You only mentioned this situation, so it’s difficult to determine the cause. The most likely explanation is that your equipment wasn’t cleaned properly, which led to impurities dissolving into the DMF. Alternatively, you may not have enough packing in the column, resulting in the extraction of colored components
If the solvent recovered from DMF contains a high level of moisture, it needs to be dehydrated using benzene before further distillation.

It might be a problem with the filler; I’ve encountered similar issues before, as DMF is quite corrosive to fillers.
