If feeding materials into the reactor continuously, is a metering pump a good choice? We are currently using a diaphragm metering pump, which produces pulses and often fails to deliver the material. Also, with a small feed volume, is it not suitable to use a metering pump?

Also, the reaction vessel must be under positive pressure; otherwise, it will also lead to inaccurate measurement!
It also depends on the properties of the material you are using; if the material contains solid impurities, it is not suitable to use a metering pump. Low flow rates and high measurement accuracy are precisely the advantages of metering pumps. As for the issue of the material not being pumped, it may be caused by low pressure in the feed tank!
