How to improve Aspen simulation skills

I have been at the design institute for half a year now. Since there are no projects available at the moment, I spend most of my time studying relevant Aspen materials on my own. I have also carried out simulations of relatively complex processes, learned about some of the modules, and gained some understanding of the software itself as well. But continuing like this doesn’t seem to lead to a good direction either. I was wondering what people usually do at this point to improve their level.
Communicate more with your supervisors, and consult with more experienced experts based on the application situation in your department. Moreover, striving for excellence is not an easy task at all. I expect you to do better
