It’s quite simple! The liquid level in the container is higher than that of the reboiler’s tube bundle; the oil is heated and evaporates, turning into vapor. This vapor moves upward, while the liquid in the container, under pressure, flows back into the reboiler where it is again vaporized. This is the principle behind this cyclic process! Keep the liquid level as high as possible; if it’s too low, air blockage can easily occur! The operations are in chaos!
There are requirements regarding the vaporization rate of heat siphon exchangers; it seems to should not be greater than 25%, otherwise vapor blockage will occur, and the liquid level at the bottom of the tower cannot be full, otherwise the exchanger cannot circulate.
