There is a layer of oil floating on top of the ammonia in the tar ship; is there any good way to solve this problem?
The floating oil you are referring to is likely some high-molecular-weight aromatic hydrocarbons with very low polarity, whereas ammonia water has high polarity. So the two are insoluble. You can skim the oil off from the top, or add a surfactant to it in order to adjust the HLB value (the hydrophilic-lipophilic balance value) and enable the two to mix together. For example, Span, Tween, and the OP series are all suitable.
Light oils can only be removed through overflow
Don’t you have oil barriers on the upper deck of the tar ships there? An oil baffle is installed on the upper part of the tar ship; below this baffle there is an oil collection tank, through which the tar that has settled settles can be removed regularly via the side discharge port
The oil on top of tar ships is generally impossible to remove; the fundamental solutions lie in the quality of the coal and the temperature of the furnace.
Try using a separatory funnel; it might work
The upper layer is clear tar, which can overflow through the opening of the tar vessel after a baffle plate is installed. This light oil has good dissolving capacity and can be used for spraying in cross-tube coolers. Some manufacturers sell this tar directly, as it can be used as fuel oil.

Which type of coal produces more light oil when used for coking? We are experiencing similar issues here as well
