When in use, the column oven temperature is set at 60 degrees; how long do people keep it at that temperature before lowering it to room temperature? It took me over 4 hours
It should be fast; opening the column chamber door is even faster.
15 minutes is enough. The power can be turned off, and then the column chamber door can be opened.
What do you mean by lowering it to room temperature? ? For example, if the room temperature is 25°C and you set it to 25°C as well, it will be very difficult for your instrument to function without cooling. The typical technical parameter for column boxes is 5 or 10 degrees Celsius above room temperature
It’s really difficult to lower it to room temperature, unless the chromatograph is turned off
Lower it to around 30 degrees and then turn off the chromatograph; it will take about 1 hour, with slight variations depending on the type of chromatograph. Opening the column chamber door is faster.
At 60 degrees, just shut it down, open the door, turn off the gas, and leave. There’s no need to lower it.
It depends on whether the temperature of your detector and the vaporization temperature have dropped. If they are both around 50-60 degrees, then shut it down right away; wait a moment before turning off the gas supply. If the room temperature is high, it will be difficult to lower the column temperature
Are you lowering it to room temperature? This is difficult, unless you open the column chamber door; generally, there’s no need to lower the gas phase to such a low level – I used to settle for 50!
We use fans in our laboratory – that’s how we do it. The temperature starts to drop from over 200 degrees, and it doesn’t take long before it reaches 60 degrees; at that point there’s no need for further action – you can just leave~
