Please share the analysis data on the ash, and also analyze the reasons for the high carbon residue content in it. I have seen cases where the carbon residue content was as high as 80%; experts, please explain what causes this. Normally, it is around 20-30 percent. It’s the slag that comes out of the gasification furnace.
It seems to depend on the load of the furnace as well; when the load is high, the carbon content is higher
I disagree with what was said in point 2: the amount of residual carbon in the slag is related to the furnace temperature, and the type of coal used must be uniform. At our plant, the best results were achieved when the residual carbon level was below 1%.

The residual carbon is four times that of the ash; if the ash content is 6%, then the residual carbon is 24%. Assuming that the carbon content in coal is 60%, the conversion rate is 1 – 0.24/0.6 = 60%. Who would want to use such a conversion rate and such production technology?
Is the poster referring to the residual carbon in the fine slag? If it’s this high in the coarse slag, it’s astonishing; even if the furnace operation isn’t normal, it shouldn’t be this high. If it’s this high in the fine slag, it’s understandable; our furnace conditions have also been abnormal recently, and it has reached 60% at times.
The residue content is 80% – so what’s the point of trying to vaporize it anymore? The residual carbon in the Luchi furnace is below 5%.
The amount of fine slag and residual carbon on our end is around 30%. I would like to ask the seniors here: where should the coarse and fine slags be taken from?
OP: 80% residue carbon rate? It’s absolutely incredible. The residual carbon content in the ash is related to the ash fusion point of the coal and the furnace temperature. High ash fusion temperature and low furnace temperature result in high residual carbon content, while the opposite is true. Additionally, a high residue carbon level occurs when production is abnormal. The carbon residue content in the ash from the TEXACO process is normally between 20% and 30%.
The carbon content in the filter cake of the shell gasifier can reach the values mentioned above. This is mainly related to the analysis sample obtained.
