For the tannin-based desulfurization method, is it better to recycle the residue from sulfur recovery back into the regeneration tank? Is it better to return it to the lean liquid tank? Why?
Before answering your question, I would like to ask whether your manufacturer uses a desulfurization tower with a filler or one without a filler. Second, is the sulfur melting system used by your company continuous or batch-type (first filtering it with a plate and frame filter press to produce a filter cake, and then heating it in a sulfur melting vessel)? Third, does the residual liquid you mentioned refer to the solution that comes out of the sulfur melting vessel? Let me first talk about the waste liquid treatment at my company. Previously, the residual liquid from our company was sent back to the rich liquid tank (or regeneration tank). Later on, blockages occurred in the desulfurization tower, which increased the system resistance to a significant extent; the packing had to be replaced every few months. It was a significant waste of funds and manpower. Subsequent analysis revealed that the high concentration of by-products in the waste liquid was to blame; these by-products are secondary products resulting from desulfurization processes, and their composition includes elements such as desulfurizing agents and soda ash, with high levels typically found in such residual liquids. As a result, our company stopped sending those residual liquids back into the system. I’m not sure if what I said is helpful to you.
Our company uses Pall ring packed towers; the sulfur foam that enters the sulfur melting tank is added there without any treatment. The liquid I’m referring to as residual liquid is the fluid that is discharged from the sulfur melting tank
