How long is the service life of pipelines insulated with ordinary steam or hot water?

Recently, the heat tracing systems have been leaking everywhere, so I’m considering replacing them all. How long is the typical service life for such items? Is it a large-scale replacement, or just fixing the leaks?
The heat tracing pipelines for steam or hot water are generally made of carbon steel and should not leak, unless the welding quality of the welds is poor. However, if the medium being heated is corrosive, its corrosiveness tends to increase as the temperature rises; therefore, it is important to choose the right type of pipe for carrying this medium. Additionally, the heat tracing temperature should be sufficient to ensure the fluidity of the medium.
For pipes below DN40, it is generally advisable to consider replacing them after about 5 years; for those above that, including DN40, try to repair them whenever possible~
It’s been in use for ten years and is leaking everywhere; now the pipes are thinner than copper pipes with a diameter of 12
