For the commissioning of a certain natural gas pipeline project, 8 MPa of natural gas must be throttled and depressurized through two throttle-stop vent valves (bypass valves of the mainline valves), before being injected from the downstream pipeline into the upstream pipeline. I would like to know whether a throttle-shut-off vent valve (a bypass valve for mainline valves) can be used in reverse to control natural gas pressure and flow
If it is a single-port stop valve, it won’t work; a double-port stop valve will do. Otherwise, not only will it fail to provide a stopping function, but it will also cause problems in production.
