When lubricating the fan shaft bearings, due to poor sealing, ammonia seeps into the lubricant system, causing the lubricant to change color. What impact does this have on its lubricating performance?
Pure ammonia has no adverse effect on lubricating oils, but when it contains moisture, it reduces the lubricating effect. Moisture in ammonia will corrode zinc, copper, bronze, and other copper alloys (except phosphor bronze).
