How to adjust the view depth in AutoCAD Plant 3d 2010?

I used PDS before; now my company has provided the software AutoCAD Plant 3d 2010. At first, I found it very difficult to use – I couldn’t figure out how to set the cutting depth. With PDS, it’s simple: you select two points in one viewport, set the distance, and then click on the viewport where you want to make the cut. How does this software work for making cuts?
