Our plant uses dry vacuum distillation with a capacity of 300,000 tons, and it is equipped with a water ring vacuum pump. But the vacuum level has never been very high. Fellow professionals, please share your thoughts on how to improve vacuum levels.
If you’re really willing to spend money, go with a steam jet pump:lol
Check whether it is a problem with the vacuum pump itself; for example, if the temperature of the working fluid in a water ring vacuum pump is too high, it can also affect the vacuum level

The working fluid in our factory is reused, and the temperature isn’t very high, around 30 degrees.
A third-stage ejector can easily reach 2–3 kPa; what pressure does the original poster need to achieve?
It doesn’t matter whether steam is used for vacuum creation; water ring pumps can still meet the requirements. We also use water ring pumps in the third stage, and this setup allows us to achieve a pressure of 2 KPa. There are many factors that affect vacuum level, such as whether the design is reasonable, whether the equipment hardware meets the design requirements, whether the operating parameters are appropriate, and whether there are any leakage points in the pressure reduction system.
If possible, add a few more stages of vacuum pumps! This can effectively increase the vacuum level of the tower reduction!
