Gentlemen, if the deaerator runs out of water, what methods can be used to ensure that operations continue without shutting down the plant? In other words, what is a better way to handle this issue than by shutting down the plant?
If steam condensate is available, it can be used as a substitute; in the absence of such condensate, circulating water or process condensate can be used temporarily (for a short period only), although usually, in such situations, production has to be stopped due to the inability to supply water in time.

If the deaerator runs out of water, the first step should be to reduce the water consumption in various sections, and to shut down all intermittent and continuous drainage systems, so that the existing liquid level can be maintained for a longer period. If the liquid level reaches the low-low alarm level, it is necessary to stop the operation; it is not allowed to add circulating water or fire-fighting water.
When the deaerator loses water supply, shutting down the system must be considered; any other approach is like drinking poison to quench thirst and will only lead to further expansion of the faults.
After the deaerator loses water supply, 1. it is necessary to estimate how long it can continue operating based on the liquid level in the deaerator tank, before considering shutting down the system. 2. Reduce the boiler water consumption during this period, by closing valves, enabling continuous drainage, etc. During this period, quickly determine how long it will take to restore water supply; if the issue is something like a pump tripping that can be resolved in a short time, then wait until normal water supply is restored. In the case of irreversible equipment failures such as pipe ruptures, the repair time is very long, forcing a shutdown of the entire system.
Generally, when the deaerator level is low, the only option is to reduce operation and shut down the plant; there are no other alternatives. In water systems, desalinated water cannot be added to the circulating water, but sometimes it can be used to replenish the circulating water.
The deaerator lost water supply; repairs were carried out promptly in response to the maintenance request. By carrying out these repairs, the amount of syngas produced could be reduced, the synthesis load would decrease, and as a result, the consumption of circulating water would also drop
