For the 3300 probe, there are extension cables of different length standards; there should be a calculation formula. I’m seeking the specific formula along with a as detailed an explanation as possible. Is this formula used in practical applications? What are the things to keep in mind?
This post was last edited by flyboot on 2012-7-29 09:00. Why bother? These lengths are compatible with the preamplifiers; just pay attention to the model. There is a deviation due to different lengths; I’ve tried it! Just make sure to use the matching components during installation.
The length of this extension cable is fixed and must not be changed arbitrarily. The signal in question is usually a potential signal; for example, a value of 7.8 mV may indicate 0 vibration or 0 displacement. If the length of the extension cable changes, the signal weakens, which affects the accuracy of the measurements.

Sensors are available in two systems: 5m and 9m. For the 5m system, the length of the extension cable is equal to 5 minus the length of the probe (including the pigtail).
