What is the difference between stress intensity and equivalent stress?

I recently started using the ANSYS analysis software, and during post-processing I came across stress intensity and von Mises stress. I would like to know what the difference between these two is? When checking the structural strength of equipment, is it by comparing it with the allowable stress of the materials?
Stress intensity is the third strength theory, while equivalent stress is the fourth strength theory.
