Thermistor wiring consists of two sets; generally, 1 (+) and 3 (-) form one set； 2(+) and 4(-) form a group; is the poster saying that you connected 1 and 4 together? Just use a multimeter to check it before installing.
In a three-wire system, reversing the connections can lead to negative values or indicate a broken wire, but in a two-wire system, the concept of reversed connections does not exist.
