What is the tripping threshold for explosion-proof doors? Isn’t it the same for all of them?
An explosion-proof door that opens during a flash explosion; it is required to rotate smoothly without any jamming. Are there any standards regarding its operation? It’s not a safety valve after all.
The negative pressure in the coking heater is 2–3 mmH2O; under normal operation, the explosion vent does not come into use. However, in case of abnormal operations that result in an increase in pressure inside the furnace or an explosion, the explosion vent will open automatically to release pressure, thereby preventing the furnace lining from coming loose or being damaged. I think there should be a jumping pressure; I’m not sure if that’s correct. I hope fellow sailors can share their valuable opinions. Thank you!
Heating furnaces do not experience explosion accidents during normal operation. Most furnace explosion accidents occur during the startup and ignition phase.
