The explanatory notes to the Code for Fire Protection Design of Buildings GB50016-2006, in the chapter on fire separation distances, state that buried storage tanks are safer than above-ground storage tanks. What’s the good in it? May I ask which relevant design codes should be referred to for buried storage tanks with a small volume of <50 m3? What measures need to be taken in the design to ensure its safety and reduce respiratory losses? Please ask those who have experience with buried storage tanks to share their insights: handshake
Buried storage tanks can reduce breathing losses caused by exposure to sunlight, and in the event of an explosion, they can effectively decrease the explosive yield.
