Hello, fellow students. Does anyone know what compound makes up the main catalyst in fertilizer factories? (It is in the form of dark red granules.)
What main catalyst? Based on the color you mentioned, it should be a low-temperature shift catalyst of the CO-MO series.
The first and second stage conversions are carried out using nickel catalysts; high-temperature transformations require iron catalysts, while low-temperature transformations use copper catalysts. Desulfurization is done with zinc catalysts, synthesis also employs iron catalysts, and methanation is facilitated by nickel catalysts.
