Bellows heat exchangers often leak; what is their maximum pressure rating?
The heat exchanger type is the same as GB151. The design pressure PN ≤ 40 MPa. Considering that the corrugated heat exchange tubes are made from thin-walled pipes and have significant residual stresses from the forming process, their operating pressure cannot be too high in order to avoid stress corrosion and fatigue failure.
Due to the thin-walled processing of its pipes, while taking into account material selection and corrosion issues, leakage is often caused by the scouring effect of the materials； Work stress factors come in second place.
